The Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court convicted Yossi Ben David, the former mayor of Yehud Monosson, of fraud and breach of trust, according to his confession as part of a plea bargain.

Ben David will resign from his public position as a member of Yahud Monosson's municipal council and will serve an agreed sentence of seven months' imprisonment, which may be served in community service, subject to the opinion of the person in charge of the service, as well as a suspended sentence and a fine of NIS 50,000.

According to the amended indictment, Ben David worked to promote the affairs of his friend Eliahu Ezra, a construction contractor in the city, as part of a construction project in the Avia Hotel complex in Yehud, despite the friendship between them and the financial assistance that Ezra gave to David.
