Inspectors of the Israel Antiquities Authority's Anti-Robbery Unit, with the assistance of the Jewish National Fund's patrols and Border Guard volunteers in the Lower Galilee, captured two suspects who were caught trying to steal antiquities from the ancient synagogue in Horbat Hukuk, near the northern end of Lake Kinneret/the Sea of Galilee.
The two allegedly searched for coins using metal detectors, while beginning to destroy antiquities.
