Sources in the Jewish Home Party estimated Thursday that Chairman Nissan Slomiansky of the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee will apparently not be running in the party primaries for a place on the ballot ahead of the elections for the 21st Knesset.

Slominsky has the most seniority of any Jewish Home MK, having entered the Knesset for the first time in 1997, following the passing of MK Avraham Yitzchak Stern, when Jewish Home was the National Religious Party. During the last term, he was accused of misconduct against women, and he suspended himself from running the committee until the investigation was closed by the attorney general.
