The Justice Ministry has responded to the announcement of early elections by saying, "The process of working on the investigation files relating to the prime minister is continuing as planned. It's a process of orderly and professional work that does not depend on political events."
A ministry statement said, "In any case, the Attorney General's directive on the subject of 'the policy of prosecution and enforcement before the elections to the Knesset and the local authorities' is in force." The ministry stresses that "as the Knesset dissolves, law enforcement authorities will act according to the guideline, and any other publication is merely speculation, given the fact that the date of completion of the work on the files is still unknown."
