The Likud party responded to the announcement of the Yisrael Beytenu party, which raised doubts about the party's support of the draft law in light of complaints against Netanyahu's conduct on the subject.

"The draft law is a national matter of the first order, and Liberman and Lapid must not turn it into petty politics. Prime Minister Netanyahu is committed to the law, drafted by the IDF and brought to first reading by Liberman and with Lapid's support. In contrast to spin that they are spreading, there are no deals or agreements with any other official - the law will be presented as it was written exactly as Liberman and Lapid supported it in its first reading, without any change.

"This is a time of trial for Liberman and Lapid: Will they honor their commitment to the public and support this important law, or will they engage in petty politics at the expense of the IDF and Israeli society? The choice is in their hands, "the Likud announcement said.
