Jerusalem District Police Commander Yoram Halevy has informed Public Safety Minister Gilad Erdan that he is removing himself from consideration to be police chief and resigning from the Israel Police, according to Channel 10 Television.
Israeli public television said the resignation is against the background of the statements of his associates, according to which the minister did not appoint him several times for irrelevant reasons.
