Member of Knesset Osnat Hila Mark (Likud) has submitted a bill that states that a person who prevents a former spouse from meeting their children will be fined NIS 3,000.

MK Mark explained that "in view of the helplessness of the system, there was a need for a law that would cause the estranged parent to think twice before acting in a manner that causes harm to the children first. The bill provides the courts with tools to impose a deterrent fine of NIS 3,000 for every breach, placing the expenses of the legal proceedings on the alienating party, referal to the specific treatment of an authorized entity for the treatment of alienation, and the crowning glory - the first time it will be possible to offset the fine from child-support payments."
