The Trump administration is planning to reduce the number of US troops in Afghanistan, a US official said on Thursday night.
The current force of 14,000 is expected to be cut in half, with those troops arriving home by the end of the spring, a second US official told ABC News. A third official said discussions have been underway for several weeks about how to withdraw some US troops from Afghanistan.
