MK David Bitan (Likud), who ran the local elections on behalf of the Likud, praised Yesh Atid MK Aliza Lavie for passing legislation guaranteeing increased funding for electoral slates that were at least 33% female.
According to Bitan, the law encouraged increasing female representation in the lists that ran for the local municipalities last month.
"This is an example of how proper legislation positively affects Israeli society. In this case, it is appropriate female representation in the leadership, and in many cases it affects the community, the family budget, deterrence against crime and violence, or protecting citizens," said Bitan.
