The coalition rejected a bill proposed by MK Elazar Stern that would set the term for the heads of the IDF, police, and Mossad to five years. Currently, the term is three years with an option to extend.
The proposal was rejected in a preliminary reading by a majority of 54 opponents and 39 supporters.
