Following negotiations between the Haifa Port Company, the State and the Histadrut Labor Federation during the last few months, the parties signed a Declaration of Principles as part of the reform in the ports.
The Histadrut said that the agreement includes a long list of issues dealing with the core activities of Haifa Port and its employees, an agreement that is supposed to prepare the port for a successful competition against the new terminals that will open in about two years. Haifa Port Company will issue a tender for the sale of 100% of its shares to a strategic investor in the coming year.
