Minister Yisrael Katz eulogized the late Rona Ramon who passed away this evening.
"I'm pained at the passing of Rona Ramon, an Israeli symbol, who took her personal pain and turned it into strength and a life project in education and youth promotion. When I informed her that I'd decided to call the first civilian airport since the establishment of the State in Ramat Timna near Eilat by the name of her husband Ilan and her son Asaf, nobody was happier than she.
"A few months ago, I was privileged to have a very exciting ceremony with her family and friends to call the airfield by the memory of her loved ones, Ilan and Asaf. Soon when we inaugurate Ramon Airport, Rona will be there together with us and with Ilan and Assaf and their friends," said Minister Katz.
