The Legal Advisor to the Prime Minister's Office says PM Netanyahu's request to finance his legal expenses is contrary to the Gifts Law.
The State Control Committee called on AG Mandelblit to forbid the Prime Minister from using wealthy donors to defray costs of his investigations. The State Comptroller's Office of the Ombudsman rejected Netanyahu's request this month, and he may appeal it again.
