Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked defended, Sunday, her abstention and that of Minister Naftali Bennett in the vote on the appointment of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu as Defense Minister. Calling Bennett "the most suitable for the job," she said, "It is our right to abstain. The government does not always have to vote as a herd for any government decision."
Interviewed by Channel 2 News, Shaked added, "We have to challenge the defense establishment and destroy old conventions in order to strengthen the IDF's deterrence. For this, a full-time defense minister is required." She said a way can be found to stop Palestinian Authority payments to terrorists and their families.
