PM urges Italy to oppose Hezbollah more strongly through UNIFIL

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met this morning with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Matteo Selvini at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem.

"I welcome Mr. Slavini, he is a great friend of Israel. You had the opportunity yesterday to see the terrorist tunnels yourself directly. This is an act of clear aggression by Hezbollah against us and against the norms of the international community," Netanyahu told the Italian politician.

"The United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) commander is Italian, we think that UNIFIL should play a stronger and more decisive role, but in the end, it is the responsibility of the international community. UNIFIL should prevent Hezbollah from taking aggressive actions against Israel," Netanyahu added.
