MK Meir Cohen (Yesh Atid) has proposed a bill determining that any change in the price of electricity to be decided by Israel's Electricity Authority will require approval by the Finance Committee. The bill comes as prices in Israel are rising due to the increased prices for electricity.
"It is inconceivable that a national resource that is a monopoly will increase in total disregard of the public," said Cohen. "It is theft from the public who has been hearing years of promises about easing the price of gas profits."
