The Israel Nature and National Parks Protection Authority announced, Tuesday, the official delaration of the Nachal Shilo nature reserve in the central region near the city of Elad and the nature reserve of Reches Bishnit in the Golan Heights after several years and complex stages.

Nachal Shilo is part of the important anchors of the National Ecological Corridor - a continuous strip of open spaces that creates connectivity between natural areas in order to ensure the functioning of ecological systems and to reduce damage to biodiversity.

Reches Bishnit, between Highway 98 and the Syrian border, includes a number of volcanic hills and unique collections of trees, flowers and wildlife as well as two hiking trails.
