Supreme Court petition against prime minister's multiple portfolios

The Movement for Quality Government submitted a petition to the Supreme Court on Tuesday, demanding that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu explain why he does not give up his ministerial portfolios.

After taking office as defense minister, Netanyahu and his associates said that "in the next few days," he would resign from the Foreign Ministry and transfer it to another minister, and appoint a minister for the Ministry of Immigration and Absorption. Even though more than three weeks have passed, there have been no changes at those ministries or the Ministry of Health. The Movement for Quality Government explained that when the prime minister cannot devote his full attention, his time and resources to the progress of the ministry he is in charge of, substantive matters cannot be properly handled.
