Amended indictment against former Emmanuel mayor Ezra Gershi

The Economic Department of the State Prosecutor's Office has submitted a revised indictment to the Kfar Saba Magistrates Court in the plea bargain of former Emanuel mayor Ezra Gershi, under which Gershi will admit that during the 2013 election campaign he committed a crime of corruption and threat.

According to the arrangement, Gershi will be sentenced to six months' imprisonment, which he can serve in community service if appropriate, as well as suspended imprisonment and a fine. In addition, the parties will jointly ask the court to determine that Gershi's actions constitute moral turpitude, meaning that he will not be able to participate in another election campaign for the seven years following the end of the sentence.
