State support for Jerusalem to rise 20% in 2019

Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon and Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion have reached an agreement on a total municipal budget for 2019 in the amount of 950 million shekels. That's 20 percent more state support than in 2018.

The total amount consists of NIS 765 million for the capital's budget, a 67-million-shekel development grant, NIS 40 million for improving the level of services in the city, and 78 million shekels in self-generated projects for the Jerusalem municipality. The municipality and the Ministry of Finance will jointly determine the projects to be implemented in the said amounts. During the year, the parties will discuss additional steps that will increase Jerusalem's independent revenues in a manner that will increase the level of services in the city.
