Brazil's President-elect Javier Bolsonaro said at a meeting with United States National Security Advisor John Bolton about two weeks ago that a final decision on the transfer of the embassy to Jerusalem had yet to be made and that there were various issues on the agenda before the final decision, according to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation.
This is in contrast to the statements made by Bolsonaro and by his son, who said, last week, that "the question is not whether the embassy will be transferred, but when." Bolsonaro's main concern is the damage to Brazil's trade relations with Muslim countries if the decision is made, in addition to domestic political concerns. Bolton told Bol sonaro that the United States was ready to help Brazil in any way to promote the transfer of the embassy.
