Seventy Torah scrolls have been donated to the Israel Defense Forces from Jewish communities around the world, in memory of fallen soldiers.
The Torah scrolls were brought to Israel after they were not used in those communities, and are being given to synagogues at IDF bases all over the country. Uri Duppelt, who heads the Oz veHadar Torah-donation program, says more than a hundred scrolls have been donated in recent years.
