"The situation on the northern border is complex, and what is required at this time is to strengthen the IDF soldiers and allow them to carry out their work. As someone who served as an intelligence officer in the Lebanon area, I am aware of the dangers and explosive situation. We in the opposition give full backing to the army commanders and rely on the chief of staff who acts with seriousness and humility.
"In any case, we will not act irresponsibly, as the opposition leader during Olmert's mandate did during a military operation," Gabbay said.
