The Foreign Ministry has instructed the Israeli delegation to submit to the Secretary General of the United Nations and the Security Council a strong protest against the aggressive actions from Lebanese territory that led to Operation Northern Shield.
Israel will emphasize in its protest that "Hizbullah is digging tunnels for terrorist purposes from Lebanon into Israel, and this is a serious attack on Israel's sovereignty and another violation of UN Security Council Resolutions 1701 and 1559." Jerusalem wants to make it clear in the UN that Hezbollah is actually an arm of Iran in Lebanon and is part of the attempt to destabilize the entire region. The diplomatic establishment said, "The Lebanese government is responsible for all operations carried out in Lebanese territory and the digging of the tunnels of the attack into Israel confirms that the Lebanese forces are not carrying out their duties."
