Public Safety Minister Gilad Erdan said, Tuesday, "it is clear to everyone" that Operation Northern Shield to eliminate Hezbollah's terror tunnels "is not only a security incident but a great diplomatic one."
Interviewed by the Knesset television channel, Erdan said,"The use of Lebanon's infrastructure today is clearer than ever, and it endangers the security of Israeli citizens by a terror organization controlled by Iran. Therefore, the Lebanese government must understand that from now on, everything that happens next will endanger it and it will be its responsibility and all the consequences will be its responsibility." He stressed, "We are currently operating within the territory of Israel in our sovereign territory, and the one who currently needs to give the answers and explanations about its violation of international agreements and the sovereignty of the State of Israel is Hezbollah."
