Retired Brigadier General Yossi Kuperwasser, a senior researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs and former head of the research division in the military intelligence department, is calling on the defense establishment to act alertly and prepare for escalation in the context of the Israel Defense Forces' embarking on Operation Northern Shield to destroy Hezbollah terror tunnels on the border with Lebanon.
According to Kuperwasser, this is Hezbollah's first experience in such a situation in which it is embarrassed by the IDF. "Therefore, sometimes they tend not to think rationally at these moments, and here lies the potential for a flare-up."
