Security inspectors of the Defense Ministry's Crossings Authority foiled an attempt to smuggle a weapon into Israeli territory Sunday morning at the Te'enim Crossing, near the western Samarian Palestinian Authority city of Tulkarm.
A Mazda 3 vehicle arrived at the crossing at 3:00 AM. The Israeli Arab driver in his twenties aroused the suspicion of the security checker at the crossing and was stopped for questioning. During the examination of the vehicle, a "Carlo" automatic weapon and an ammunition clip were found in the wall of the door. The suspect was detained for questioning.
