Chairman Avigdor Lieberman of the Yisrael Beytenu Party explained, on Thursday, why he refused to sit in the Knesset next to Chairman MK Ayman Odeh of the Joint List of predominantly Arab parties.

Interviewed at a conference of local authority spokespeople, the former defense minister said, "I think he should sit in the parliament in Ramallah at best. In the most correct case, he should sit in jail." Liberman added, "This is a clear fifth column that acts against the State of Israel [and] exploits his immunity to harm the state. He leads a lot of demonstrations. I never saw the Israeli flag at his demonstrations."
