Culture Minister Miri Regev spoke at the Ami Awards ceremony held at the Mann Auditorium in Petach Tikvah.
During the minister's speech, she referred to the law of "cultural loyalty" which was approved this morning by the Knesset Education Committee and said that "there is a limit to freedom of expression." In response, the minister received "booes" from the audience.
The winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Israel Artists' Association for 2009 are Sasson Gabai, Tzvika Pick, Tzipi Shavit, Yosef Abu Warda, Alex Ansky, Moshe Efrati, Mike Burstein, Zevik Schwarzbord and Boaz Sharabi.
