The board of the Israel Broadcasting Corporation instructed the management to examine with the Ministry of Finance the terms of the loan that will enable the production of the Eurovision Song Contest.

"The Council believes that the allocation of NIS 110 million from the corporation's budget to finance only three broadcast evenings poses a real difficulty for the corporation and is liable to harm the Israeli work, creators and employees. However, the members of the Council believe that the competition in Israel is of great importance in the image and economic aspect of the country, and therefore the Council approved to examine the terms of the loan out of a desire to hold the competition provided that the terms of the loan will not affect the realization of the corporation's designated purposes.
