Interior Minister Aryeh Deri has accepted the recommendation of the Interior Ministry's legal advisor, Attorney Yehuda Zameret, to hold repeat elections for the local council in the Golan Heights Druze village of Ein Qiniye, where Wa'il Mughrabi was elected.
The reason for the decision to hold the new elections is a mistake made by the election director. Although there were a number of lists of candidates for the Council, the director acted as if there was only one list and thus damaged the democratic process.
