Chairman Ofer Shelah of the Yesh Atid Knesset faction promised today to try to topple the Cultural Loyalty bill, which was cleared by the Education Committee for its final readings in the Knesset plenum.

The bill provides sanctions against cultural acts and institutions that advocate actions against the state. Shelah said, "Behind the Cultural Loyalty bill, there is nothing but a personal whim and the primaries of Culture Minister Miri Regev. I know that there are a lot of people in the coalition who oppose it, and we intend to use all the cracks in the coalition to try to bring it in the plenum vote - as we did to other laws yesterday."
