The Tel Aviv Journalists Association has presented Lifetime Achievement Awards to Shimon Shiffer, the political correspondent of Yediot Ahronot and Amos Biderman, the editorial cartoonist for Haaretz, at the 12th Eilat Journalists' Conference.

In nearly 30 years with Yediot, Shiffer has written tens of thousands of articles, commentary columns and hundreds of scoops, including the secret negotiations between Israeli and PLO representatives in Scandinavia that culminated in the Oslo Accords, the story behind the Jonathan Pollard case for spying for other countries, and the secret meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and King Hussein of Jordan over the issue of water resources. Biderman has spent the past 20 years at Haaretz, also serving at the Ha'ir, Kol Ha'Ir and Hadashot newspapers during his extensive career.
