Following his ultimate to the Prime Minister in which Education Minister and Chairman of the Jewish Home Party demanded the recently vacated Defense Portfolio on the threat that his party will leave the coalition, Minister Bennett released a message on why he wishes to take over the portfolio.
Lamenting his desire to leave the Education Ministry Minister Bennett called his time in the ministry "A great privilege and an extraordinarily honor."
However, he made clear that he wishes to take over the Defense Ministry because he believes that "Israel is facing one of its complex and dangerous periods."
