Some 1,600 religious young women who are about to be drafted into the IDF participated in the conference of the religious daughter of the IDF and the Aluma Association in Beit Hachayal in Tel Aviv.
During the conference, the head of Project 929, Rabbi Benny Lau told the young women that there is no halachic problem in serving in the IDF, which is considered a war of mitzvah.
"It is, therefore, permissible for you to go to the army, a great honor for both you and the State of Israel, which you are joining the army." "There is no reason why a girl should not enlist in the army," Rabbi Lau said, adding that "the profit you will get from the army is huge, and the army's profit will be huge."
