A spokeswoman for the US State Department spoke on Tuesday about the latest round of fighting between Israel and Hamas.
"We condemn the firing of rockets and mortars into Israel and stand by her defending herself. It is not acceptable to shoot at civilians. I will not be able to respond to Israel's special operation in Gaza, "she said.
