The haredi-religious public is organizing a prayer assembly at the Western Wall plaza, headed by Hacham Shalom Cohen, under the slogan "Guarding the Holiness of the Holy City."

Organizers claim the election of mayoral candidate Ofer Berkovitich "may lead to the assimilation of the ideological doctrine of Berkovitch and his Hitorerut (awakening) movement, according to which Jerusalem must retain a secular character in all areas." They announced that the assembly would say a special series of Psalms and Selichot penitential prayers.
