Chairman Avi Gabbay of the Zionist Union faction called, Thursday, on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to resign, following the recommendation of police that six people be tried for improprieties in Israel's purchase of three submarines from German company Thyssenkrupp.

Gabbay explained, "Stealing money from the defense establishment is a betrayal of IDF soldiers. If the prime minister knew about the involvement of his associates, he must resign, and if he does not know, he must resign because he is unfit to run our defense establishment."
