The left-wing Meretz party issued a no-confidence bill after Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked demanded that Deputy Attorney General Dena Zilber be fired.
"Shaked deviates from her authority in order to frighten and threaten the judicial system under her authority," said Meretz head Tamar Zandberg. "The justice minister is the one who was supposed to maintain the independence of the judicial system and the fact that she herself is enlisting to crush her in a series of steps, including the law of the court and the threat of dismissing Zilber."
