In a speech at the European Jewish Association annual conference in Brussels, Belgium, Ioan Mircea Pașcu, Vice-President of the European Parliament, said that " The EU and Israel share the same values of democracy, respect for freedom and the rule of law."
He also talked about anti-semitism in Europe, saying: "The EU has made efforts to stop the spread of hate crime and the rise of anti-semitism, but reality shows that more remains to be done."
