Israel Railways announced on Tuesday that 12 new two-story carriages will be installed in the coming days, adding 1,728 places for passengers.

Three cars are being unloaded at the Haifa port, and after a round of tests carried out by the Mobile Engineering Division of Israel Railways, the new cars will be towed to the new maintenance center in Be'er Sheva, where they are prepared for integration into the passenger service system. That includes outfilling with seats, tables and other furniture, as well as various systems.
