The Knesset has approved the final reading of a bill by Public Safety Minister Gil'ad Erdan to authoriz the police to conduct saliva checks on roads to detect driving under the influence of drugs.
Minister Erdan expressed satisfaction with the bill's approval, saying, "I demanded that the police be given tools to ensure that drivers who used drugs do not get on the road. Thanks to this authority, the police will create a significant deterrent."
