The Ministerial Committee on Legislation has rejected a bill of Member of Knesset Karin Elharrar (Yesh Atid) regarding protected debtors.
The bill calls for the redefinition of debtors who find it difficult to pay their debts as "protected debtors" and to encourage the state to make the repossession system available to them. This protected individual will receive personal information in simple language about his rights, how he can avail himself of legal aid, and the possibilities of opening bankruptcy proceedings.
