Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel met with Director-General of the Water Authority Giora Shaham, Chairman of the Israel Farmers Association Meir Zur, Secretary General of the Israel Farmers Association Abu Vilan and President of the Farmers Association Dubi Amitai regarding water cuts for agriculture, following five years of drought.
During the meeting, they discussed practical solutions on water for agriculture and future water forecasts in order to prepare better for the coming year. Ariel said, "According to forecasts, the coming year will be blessed with rain. He concluded, "As I said in the past and I am saying now, there is no way that only agriculture will experience water cuts. The farmers are not the punching bag and I will continue and fight against the cuts."
