In a post on Twitter, former head of the far-left Meretz Party, Zehava Galon criticized the election of Jair Bolsonaro as president of Brazil, writing:
"Those who think that the verbal and physical violence that Bolsonaro and his supporters direct against women, gays, and blacks in Brazil will not be directed very quickly to the Jews, is blind; at worst he will actively take part, and at best he will be a partner in the persecution. To participate in Bolsonaro's inauguration is like walking with the racists in Charlottesville, and the silence of this regime will be hunting season."
