The top appointments committee of the Foreign Ministry, headed by director-general Yuval Rotem, has selected nine ambassadors who will take up their posts this summer, subject to cabinet approval. It was reported, Monday evening, that Amira Oron, who was the representative at the Ankara embassy at the height of the crisis with Turkey, was appointed Israeli ambassador to Egypt.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon will serve as Israel's ambassador to Belgium, Dr. Rodica Radian Gordon will serve as ambassador to Spain, Yoram Elron has been appointed ambassador to Bulgaria and Boaz Modai will serve as Israel's ambassador to Slovakia. Alex Ben Zvi will be ambassador to Poland, the ambassador in Latvia will be Orly Gil, and Ran Hedges will serve as Israel's ambassador to Georgia. Marina Rosenberg will serve as Israel's ambassador to Chile.
