Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu revealed at the cabinet meeting today that Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz will travel next week for a state visit to Oman.
Minister Katz, who will be attending an international transport conference in Oman, was personally invited by his counterpart and the organizers of the conference. At the center of the visit, Minister Katz will present his Rails for Peace joint initiative with the prime minister to connect the Gulf states via rail with the Mediterranean Sea. Israel would be a land bridge and Jordan would be a regional transportation hub.
