The Rishon LeTzion and Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, met this morning with Rabbi Reuven Wabashat , Chief Rabbi of the Ethiopian Jewish community in Israel.
The meeting comes against the backdrop of a call by the Knesset Economics Committee for the Chief Rabbinate to issue a ruling on the Jewishnesss of the Ethiopian community, following haredi-religious opposition to Ethiopian Jews bottling wine for Barkan.
