Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai said on Thursday that the Transportation Ministry has approved the running of bus lines on the Jewish Sabbath and holidays.
Interviewed by Israel Defense Forces Radio, Huldai said, "With the approval of the Ministry of Transportation, 24 service lines will begin operating in the coming year - also on Shabbat and holidays."
