The Committee on the Rights of the Child, chaired by MK Yifat Shasha Biton (Kulanu), held an additional discussion in the series of follow-up discussions on the State's response to children suffering from allergies.
Dr. Lisa Rubin, director of the mother and child department at the Health Ministry, was also asked to provide data on the issue of allergic children in Israel. "Since 2002, the number of allergic children ages three and under has tripled, and today 2.8 percent of children under the age of three have an allergy any.
In regards to the issue of milk allergies, which presents a particular difficulty, it was noted that today 0.6% of the children up to the age of three have an allergy.
